WHITEPAPER
INTRO
“First, we believe that crypto projects are created for people and should not be difficult to understand. We wrote the Whitepaper in the form of a presentation to ensure clarity and prevent an overabundance of technical terms. Below, we have tried to convey our idea unambiguously and intelligently. Of course, you can always relate your questions to us by mail or Telegram.”
Ode to chess
Chess is one of the intellectual games known to humankind for over 1500 years. Almost every civilized person has played chess at least once in his or her life. The history of chess is associated with great victories and tragedies, brilliant people, and exciting ideas. Chess has an amazing ability always to remain relevant. Moreover, despite the traditions and rules, they are ready for constant development.
Project idea
The global idea of ChessNode is to use the chess game as a tool for cryptocurrency mining. As you know, the mining process itself implies the solution to a particular task. As a result, miners receive a reward in cryptocurrency. We presents a new concept called "intelligent mining". The task that players need to solve is to defeat the opponent, and the rewards are given in STEIN tokens.
Project goals
Combining the ancient chess game and the latest blockchain technology and declaring the goals of the project, ChessNode defines the following purposes:
To popularize the chess game in general, and particularly among the younger generation, by adding the possibility of monetization directly into the gameplay.
To provide the crypto community with an alternative green mining solution with a near-zero carbon footprint.
To enable gamers from the world of play to earn games to expand their respective playing field by becoming more familiar with chess and intellectual gaming.
To offer a public cryptocurrency mining solution that allows users to "make money using their mind".
Project audience
Chess fans
It has historically been difficult for chess players to monetize their hobby, where an almost only way to obtain price was participation in tournaments. The tournaments drawback was that they were the prerogative of grandmasters and not amateur chess players. In addition, to get a cash prize, you needed to get to the prize-winning place, which the tournament granted to only a small number of its participants.
ChessNode incorporates cryptocurrency into the gameplay, enabling every participant, whether amateur or grandmaster, to monetize each victory, irrespective of their knowledge, experience, or world ranking.
Crypto community
It is no secret that cryptocurrency mining equipment is quite expensive and consumes a large amount of electricity. This circumstance has led to a heated debate over the environmental friendliness of the mining process and its impact on the environment.
We introduce "intelligent mining," an innovative, eco-friendly alternative for the cryptocurrency community, where players time, attention, and intelligence serve as the primary computing power.
Gamers
The world of modern youth is unimaginable without video games. Gamers spend many hours honing their skills, but it is not always possible to monetize their time. With an understanding of strategy, knowledge of tactics, and logic, gamers will be able to defeat their opponents and earn cryptocurrency. Training your chess skills will help you become the "Global Elite" in intellectual games.
ChessNode invites gamers to take advantage of their gaming experience and try their hand at intellectual gaming. By getting to know chess better, gamers will significantly enrich their gaming experience and expand their respective playing field.
Beginners
Many people have a great desire to learn how to play chess. Some even tried. But, for various reasons, this game has never become their favourite. Cryptocurrency can serve as an excellent incentive to get acquainted with this fascinating game or resume chess battles with rivals.
The game designed so that the system automatically selects opponents with approximately the same rating. This solition allows us to evenly distribute the "power" in the network and maintain a balance between amateurs and professionals.
Investors
The worlds of investment and chess are similar. They unite purposeful people who look into the future. Both investors and chess players have one more thing in common – they both have a habit of thinking through their actions several steps ahead.
The project offers a unique opportunity to invest not only in the token, but also directly in individual players.
THE GAME
ChessNode
The game mechanics adhere strictly to classical chess rules; our aim is not to alter chess but rather to integrate modern technologies into it.
Players receive STEIN tokens as rewards for overcoming their opponents. These tokens can be used within the ChessNode platform or transferred to an external wallet, allowing players complete control over how they use them. With these tokens, players can join tournaments, set up personalized matches, and enjoy other benefits within the ChessNode ecosystem.
There are several game modes that take into account different user preferences:
Mining
Here, players earn STEIN tokens by defeating opponents selected randomly by the system.
Challenge
This mode lets you choose your opponents, set the duration of the game, and determine the amount of reward.
Investor
Users have the option to form their own chess teams and earn a share of the rewards for each team member victories.
Observer
In this mode, you can observe other players games in real-time.
Practice
Here, you can hone your gaming skills by playing chess against AI or solving tactical challenges on a chessboard.
Tournament
Regular tournaments are held with prizes awarded in STEIN tokens and NFT rewards for the top-ranking participants.
GAME MODES
Mining Mode
Opponents
In Mining mode, players cannot choose their opponents. Instead, the system randomly selects players with ratings closest to each other. This method ensures a balanced distribution of skill levels within the network, maintaining equilibrium between amateurs and professionals.
It is crucial to understand that for the player selection system to operate effectively, players need to engage in multiple games. The more games played, the more precise the selection system becomes.
Time to play
In this mode, the game time is strictly limited. Each player is allotted 10 minutes of playing time for the entire game. If neither opponent achieves checkmate within this time frame, the system will declare defeat for the player who exhausts their playing time first.
Player Rating
Upon registration, all players are assigned an initial rating. The value of this rating is directly influenced by the number of wins and losses in chess games played in Mining mode. Every game played in Mining mode contributes to the calculation of the player rating.
Daily limits
Players can enjoy an unlimited number of games per day. However, the reward system for STEIN tokens is limited to the first ten wins within a 24-hour period. This means players receive STEIN tokens for their initial ten victories within the designated timeframe. This limitation is in place to ensure a fair distribution of tokens among players. After reaching the limit, players can still play in Mining mode but will not receive additional rewards. These limits reset daily at 00:00 GMT.
STEIN rewards
The amount of STEIN rewarded upon winning depends on the number of STEIN tokens deposited in the staking balance. For more details, refer to the Staking section.
Tokens are exclusively rewarded for victories, with no rewards for defeats or draws. Importantly, in the event of a defeat, players do not lose the tokens they have previously earned.
As STEIN tokens enter circulation, the amount of the reward for defeating an opponent decreases proportionally. For more information on reward reductions, see the STEIN Token Distribution section.
Challenge Mode
Opponents
In this mode, players have the autonomy to select their opponents, including choosing from their list of friends.
Time to play
Players have the flexibility to set a time limit for the game according to their preferences, in agreement with their opponent. The time limit can range from one to 120 minutes.
Player Rating
Games played in Challenge mode are not taken into account for calculating the player rating.
Daily limits
There are no restrictions on the number of games that can be played within a 24-hour period.
STEIN rewards
In this mode, the player who creates the game sets the amount of STEIN that the winner will receive. Both opponents must have enough STEIN in their balances to initiate the match.
Players have the option to create "friendly games" where there are no rewards for winning. In Challenge mode, the staking balance is not taken into consideration, and it does not affect rewards.
Investor Mode
ChessNode provides a distinctive opportunity for investment, allowing individuals to invest not only in the token but also directly in specific players. An Investor can take on the role of a Manager, forming their own chess team and earning passive income without actively participating in chess matches.
A thorough and detailed description of this mode will be provided at a later date, offering comprehensive insights and information.
Observer Mode
In the Observer mode, registered users can watch other players games in real-time. This feature enables users to observe games of unfamiliar players as well as games among friends.
Utilizing this mode is particularly beneficial for novice chess players, as it allows them to follow the games of more experienced peers and gain valuable insights and experience.
Practice Mode
The most effective method for enhancing your chess abilities is by solving tactical exercises. In this mode, players have access to a variety of practical tasks that cover different aspects of the game. With a well-curated selection of exercises, players can refine various game elements at any stage of their chess journey. Many experts regard solving chess tasks as the most efficient approach to learning and advancing chess skills. Sharpen your abilities, discover the correct solutions, and return to Mining mode with newfound enthusiasm!
Tournament Mode
The ChessNode team plans to host regular tournaments with a prize pool in STEIN and NFT rewards for the top positions. Details regarding the terms and regulations will be announced prior to the tournaments announcement. Updates and announcements will be published in our communities.
TOKEN
STEIN
STEIN is the native token of the project. The developers named the token after Wilhelm Steinitz, the first generally recognized World chess champion, considered the "father of positional chess". STEIN is the primary and the only one token in the ChessNode ecosystem and is used, among other things, to reward players for victories in games and tournaments.

Token distribution
70% For players
70% of the entire STEIN supply is intended solely to reward players for defeating rivals (in the Mining game mode). This amount of STEIN will be sent to a smart contract that controls the payment of rewards for winnings. These tokens will get into circulation only through players victory over rivals.
As STEIN tokens enter circulation, the amount of the reward for defeating an opponent decreases proportionally. The rewards will be reduced by 10% each time users generate 7 000,000 STEIN in rewards.
The system of reducing rewards for victories bears resemblance to the Bitcoin halving cycles. This reduction in rewards is expected to have a positive impact on the overall price of STEIN and introduce a deflationary aspect to the ChessNode economy.
18% STEIN at the disposal of the project
18% of the STEIN emission is retained by the project, forming a reserve fund that can be utilized for future platform requirements.
10% For listing
10% of all STEIN issuance is dedicated to STEIN listings on the crypto exchanges.
1.9% For STEIN sale
1.9% of the entire STEIN offer is allocated for token sales. Funds raised at this stage are primarily intended for:
Marketing and advertising campaigns to attract the audience attention and popularize the ChessNode project.
Expenditures related to project development and maintenance include server hosting rentals and the implementation of an anti-cheat system, among other items..
Paying the costs of listings.
0.1% Airdrops, Ambassador Program
0.1 percent of STEIN emission is dedicated to Airdrops and Ambassador Program.
The Airdrop date and detailed conditions will be announced on the official social networks and project channels.
At the same time, an Ambassador Program is being formed that allows you to receive STEIN tokens for helping to create and organize the ChessNode crypto-chess community.
WALLET
Decentralized economy
In order to engage with STEIN, user is required to link his web3 wallet, such as Metamask or TrustWallet, to ChessNode accounts. Once this linking process is completed, it is not possible to change the associated crypto wallet, meaning that one crypto wallet may only be linked to one ChessNode account.
User is permitted to deposit and withdraw STEIN tokens solely through the linked crypto wallet.
This measure is implemented for security reasons; in the event of unauthorized access to a ChessNode account, the tokens can only be transferred to the associated wallet address.
This solution significantly enhances the security for both the player and the ChessNode team, making it impossible to transfer tokens from your account to an unauthorized address.
STAKING
intelligent staking
Staking in ChessNode augments the number of STEIN tokens that a player earns for defeating opponents in Mining mode. The greater the amount of STEIN deposited into the staking balance, the greater the reward for victories. It иs important to note that the maximum balance of a staking wallet cannot exceed 10,000 STEIN.
Players receive rewards for victories as long as their STEIN remains in their staking balance. However, if a player withdraws tokens from staking, their reward for winning will revert to the initial level. Withdrawals from staking can be made at any time, and tokens are returned to the principal balance within 48 hours.
To be eligible to receive tokens for wins, a player must stake a minimum of 10 STEIN. Awards for victories will be calculated based on the following table:
FAIR PLAY
Anti-cheat AI
Combatting cheating stands as a top objective for our team. In order to effectively address this concern, we are implementing a variety of modern solutions based in artificial intelligence.
Our cheating detection strategy involves a complex system consisting of several modules. These modules will work in parallel, meticulously analysing games across multiple parameters, which will greatly enhance our ability to identify cheaters with a significant degree of accuracy.
In addition, as a complementary measure to this automated system, we will use manual analyses of games by moderators with extensive chess experience.
Together, this comprehensive approach will identify the large majority of dishonest players in our community.
